Sweet Potato Dog Chews

We've had wee Shabba here for over a week now and I've been looking at alot of different treats that you can buy for dogs. Most of them contain meat in some form and loads of preservative stuffs (i assume this is what keeps them from going off). I know its OK to give your dog these kinds of treats once and a while but i wanted to give homemade (and healthy) a try ... If nothing else it might work out cheaper (and smell alot better).

The first recipe that stood out was Sweet Potato chews ... The recipe only uses 3 ingredients and its all natural :)

You'll Need
1 large sweet potato
1 Tbsp. olive oil
Cinnamon (to taste)

To Make
Preheat oven to 150°C.

Slice sweet potatoes into long strips about 1cm thick using a sharp knife.

Toss sweet potato slices in a large bowl with olive oil and coat thoroughly.

Place on a baking tray, lined with grease proof paper or foil.

Sprinkle with cinnamon.

Bake for about an hour (till they start to brown around the edges).

*I got stuck on the phone while i was baking mine so they are a little darker than i wanted but they were still edible *

Allow to cool before giving to your furry friend :)
