Can you do something wild?

Its almost June which marks the beginning of the #30DaysWild challenge set out every year by The Wildlife Trusts and is open to everyone up and down the country.

The aim is to get yourself off the sofa and out into nature every day for the month of June. Its a great chance to explore nature or make use of your local trust.

The Wildlife Trust is an organisation, made up of 47 individual Wildlife Trusts which cover the whole of the UK, and who aim to "rescue and restore places for wildlife and people".

The #30DaysWild challenge not only gets you out and enjoying nature as a family but it also helps educate people on what we can all to do make our environment more efficient and a better place for us all to live, wildlife included.

"Together we have a mission to create Living Landscapes, to secure Living Seas and to inspire people to value and take action for nature."

Since the Wildlife trusts are primary funded through Grants, Membership and  donations, taking part is also a great way to help promote the Trust and hopefully through gaining more awareness, they will get more funds to restore our natural environment.

Agent M and i are joining in this year and have signed up for the Information pack - You can get one posted out to you or opt for the Eco friendly option of getting the pack digitally.

On their site there is also a section for Kids, which gives you ideas on how to get them involved in nature through clubs and activities, so there is plenty of ideas to keep you going through the whole month :)

#MySundayPhoto

Today it is really warm.

Its definitely ice-cream weather, and although the Agents are indulging, I'm not.

Sometimes i get really irritated that i cant have some Ben & Jerry's ... Heck this morning i got annoyed that i couldn't have a roll and square slice like everyone else. It gets frustrating that i have to be so careful with what i eat ...

But then i weighed myself this morning just to see how much damage i done during my impromptu trip down to my mums (where i stopped counting syns and ate fried food) and i have lost another 2 pounds ... That's 12 pounds in total i have lost in 6 weeks

Considering i started at 19 stone, knowing that I'm only 2lb off of losing a stone fills me with such a proud feeling that i will scoff down my syn free food and to heck with the ice-cream. I'll freeze some grapes and make do ... It will be worth it in the end when i can look in the mirror and not wanna cry :)

Is there such a thing as an overprotective parent?

I'm sitting here at my table in the living room listening to little kids out the front of my house playing and although it makes me smile, i have this sicky feeling in my stomach.

You see I'm in the house, just me and the dog as Agent M is away playing on his bike with his friend from school. Something that i used to do as a kid and something that most kids in the future will do. So why do i feel sick?

I think its because I'm not there to watch over him. I think its because my my mind will occasionally throw out a scary thought of what could go wrong ...

*I think I'll make a - What if he falls under a car? - fruit tea*
*I need to put another - What if he goes missing? - load in the washing machine*

My mind is so scary these days ... But how much of that is my fault? How much is it because of what we hear about in the news or read in magazines? I don't remember there being as many sex offenders lurking when i was little but  I'm sure there probably where. I don't remember hearing horror stories about kids being abducted but a look through old articles proves they were ... we just didn't hear about them.

I don't want Agent M to miss out on having a childhood. I used to play outside for hours when i was a lot younger than him (he's 9) and i was fine but i just cant shake this sicky feeling. I know I'll be like this till he comes in looking for his dinner perfectly fine and if anything a little knackered from his cycling.

Maybe that's just the kind of mum I'm going to be. Maybe I'll just worry about him all the time. But then, he's priceless and means everything to me so perhaps that's to be expected.

My Sunday Photo - 15/05/16

Its been a lovely day here in the West Coast of Scotland and since it was Agent D's only day off this week, We decided to make the most of it.

It started off with a breakfast at Asda. I'm not gonna lie i gave up trying to count syns today as i think the only slimming world friendly thing i had was the bottle of water i carried around with me and the salad i had with dinner ... The rest i have no clue but i'm calling today a hiccup rather than a failure. I'll just need to work out extra this week to try and level it out.

Anyway after breakfast and a trip into town, we decided to go to Ayr beach since it was such a warm, gorgeous day. While we were there we seen loads of Ice-cream shops but Agent D said that we "had to try the best ice-cream ever" which in his opinion is Renaldos ... I will admit, The melon ice-cream is quite possibly the best thing i have tasted in a long time, but i cant cave in and say its the best ice-cream shop as to me, that has to be Varani's Forum Cafe in Kilmarnock.

I tried (clockwise from top left) Banoffie pie, Orange Choc Chip, Melon and McCalum Crunch

Soooooo Yummy!

Fat to Fit - 4 week weigh in

A few weeks ago i shared with you my realisation that i had let myself go ... BIG TIME! When i weighed myself 4 weeks ago i was bang on 19 stones. If you missed that post you can find it here.

Well today is my 4 week weigh in and I'll be honest, i was slightly nervous. I've been having a rough week and I've gone over on my Slimming World syns more than once.

But when i stepped on the scaled this morning and read 18st 4lb i was in shock! I double (and triple) checked the scales and its right enough.

That means that in 4 weeks i have lost 10lb ... 8lb of those have been in the last 8 days since i started slimming world (i weighed myself before i started on the 3rd and was 18st 12lb).

When i think that my target was at least a pound a week (meaning a 4lb loss) I'm beyond chuffed with the 10lbs I've actually dropped.

I'm gonna keep on weighing myself every 4 weeks as seeing such a big loss has given me a real buzz and I'm hoping that will help me continue to try and lose weight and get fit.

Make it Monday #11

Hey lovely's ... welcome to my linky!

Apologies for there being no linky last week. I've been struggling to get the internet up long enough to get things written and posted. I feel so sorry for the engineer who keeps having to come out over and over to locate the problem. He's getting just as fed up as i am.

Anyway, I'm hoping that you are all good and can link up to Make it Mondays. I look forward to seeing your makes.

My Sunday Photo - 8/5/16

I love Sunday's with Agent M. We can just chill out and not have to really do anything if we don't want to. This Sunday we decided to have a movie day (since we got way-laid last night with WWE). We started off with Hotel Transylvania 2 (which was brilliant) and then The Good Dinosaur.

One thing you are guaranteed with a Disney/Pixar is a kick straight to the feels and this one didnt disappoint.

*SPOILER ALERT*

Syn Free Tomato Sauce

When i started Slimming World i didn't realise that so many of my favourite things were full of Syn's ... *BooHoo*. But one thing that isn't a Syn is Pasta *yay* which goes brilliant with this Syn free sauce. I made mine rather basic as Agent M was eating it too but you can add peppers and spices to this sauce ... Its so versatile that anything goes (provided its a Free/SF Food) and you can add as much or as little of the veggies as you like..

You'll need
Passata
Garlic Cloves
Mushrooms
Onions
Fry Light cooking spray
Dried Basil
Salt and Pepper

To Make
Chop up the garlic really fine and and fry it in a hot pan using 2 sprays of the Fry Light.
Chop the onions as thick or as thin as you like and add them to the pan. Add the mushrooms and stir till the onions are soft and the mushrooms are almost cooked.
Pour the Passata into the pan and allow to simmer, seasoning with a little basil, salt and pepper.

This sauce is completely Syn Free and will go great with Chicken, Fish or Pasta ... All of which are Free Foods on the Extra Easy plan.
