I feel a little sorry for Agent M sometimes. He’s 9 years
old and yet his bedroom still has the same jungle animal wallpaper that I put
up when he was a new born. Granted he has some WWE pictures and his own artwork
up too but it’s not a great ‘big boy’ room.
There are many ideas online but one site in particular -
Homify, has loads of inspiration and ideas for the perfect kids room.
There are design inspirations for every room in your house
as well as different styles to suit your décor however I focused on the kid’s
rooms and was overwhelmed with ideas.
Some of my favourites weren’t necessarily practical for the
size of Agent M’s room, (His is a little box room), But it didn’t stop me
dreaming.
What kid wouldn’t love a climbing wall in their room?
I created an account with them and started to collect together
all my favourites into an “Idea book” just for Agent M so I can go back to it
again and again.
With so much inspiration I tried to think practically. What
would suit him as he gets older and his tastes change? What would work for him
age 9 might not be “cool” for a 14-year-old.
I like the idea of keeping the walls white and using colour in the
furniture as I feel it really pops.
And since he has such a small room it was great to find so
many ideas on how to really utilise such a small space.
Looking through all the ideas they have I started to think about little extras, like a desk for him to do homework and open displays for his favourite Lego models.
There are many storage ideas too. I love that he can have
everything organised into its own box or cupboard and it still looks so neat
and tidy.
With so much inspiration I feel confident that I will be
able to create a room for Agent M that he will be proud of and want to invite
friends into.
